Description
Sew a striking, tailored vest with a dramatic stand-up collar that folds into wide lapel points. This sleeveless halter-lapel vest has a sweetheart neckline, a fitted waist, a centre-front button closure and a flared peplum hem. Wear it with matching trousers for a polished look, or over a blouse for the office.
It looks beautiful in a brown wool blend, tweed, suiting or cotton twill.
What You Will Make
- A fitted, sleeveless vest with princess-style shaping
- A tall collar that folds into broad lapel points
- A sweetheart neckline
- A 4 to 6 button centre-front closure with buttonholes
- A flared, curved peplum hem
- An optional full lining for a clean inside finish
What Is Included
- Written sewing guide (22 pages): design and fit overview, materials, how to draft each piece from your own measurements, cutting, interfacing, step-by-step sewing, lining, buttonholes, pressing, fitting and care.
- Illustrated photo tutorial (10 pages): visual steps from drafting and cutting to collar, lining, buttons and the finished vest.
Good to know: this is a draft-to-your-measurements guide. There are no printable full-size pattern sheets and no pre-graded sizes. You draw the pieces on paper using your own bust, waist, hip and length, then make a quick test version. This gives you a vest that fits you, not a standard size.
Skill Level
Intermediate. You should be comfortable with drafting, interfacing, a collar and buttonholes. The guide walks you through each step in order.
